FAQs

What is a financial coach?

A financial coach works with you to develop and implement a plan that helps you reach your desired short-term, intermediate, and/or long-term financial goals. Whether you’re someone who is “paycheck to paycheck”, or earns a decent living, but wants to plan for future life events (family, car purchase, home purchase, vacation, etc.), a financial coach can guide you through your day-to-day finances and to financial freedom.

how can I afford a financial coach, when i’m already struggling with money?

This is 100% a valid question and concern.

The natural reaction when you are struggling with money is to not “spend” more money, but I want to change your view about financial coaching.

The money that you will save on high-interest debt combined with the money that you will save in your bank account will likely offset the cost of any of the financial coaching programs.

Financial coaching is an INVESTMENT. You are investing into yourself and your future to ensure that you have the tools and financial habits to build wealth for the rest of your life. You are investing into your PEACE; the peace of mind that comes with having a hold of your finances.

Also, I will never recommend that you invest into a financial coaching program that you cannot afford. When we have a free 15-minute consultation or pre-onboarding session, we will discuss your current financial situation and assess whether financial coaching is right for you.

What is the difference between a financial coach and financial Advisor?

In simplest terms, a financial coach provides you with tools, resources, information, strategies, and habits to manage your day-to-day finances to reach financial freedom. This includes budgeting/planning, saving, paying off debt, your income, and education on investment vehicles that exist. A financial advisor can provide you with specific investment advice around your investment portfolio, estate planning, and retirement planning.

I’m not struggling financially, would financial coaching still help?

100%! Financial coaching is not just for those struggling financially. Financial coaching will also help you develop plans and strategies to optimize your finances and lead you to financial freedom. Whether you’re looking to start a business, buy a house/car, afford family vacations year over year, etc., financial coaching will help you reach all of your goals.

Do you have in-person sessions?

In-person sessions can be provided on a case-by-case basis. If you’re interested in in-person coaching, just ask!

Will you invest my money for me?

No, I do not handle investment portfolios or sell financial assets. As a part of the 6-month program, we go over several investment vehicles and options as a part of our mission to provide financial literacy.

Can you tell me what to invest in?

No, federal law does not allow me to legally provide direct or indirect investment advice. I can only educate you on your options and provide you examples of the options that exist.
